How to make Chocolate Covered Pretzel Rods that will make guests at your next party wanting you to cater THEIR event!

Chocolate covered pretzels are a simple and fun and delicious way to make your aprty the event people remember and ( honestly there are a million ways to make these ) I will show you a couple here for the sake of not spending a ton of time on them ....
So you have heard of regular old fashioned chocolate on a pretzel yah yah yah everyone has tasted them , but what if you could flavor the chocolate ? color it? or even change the consistantcy of it? I am here to save the day with creative additions you can make to simply get everyones taste buds jumping OK let's get started .......

First Step:
buy a bag of pretzel rodsyouc an pick these up at any grocery store and normally
get 16 - 18 rods per bag.

Also get a hand full of assorted ice cream topping sprinkles ! again these can be found pretty much at any grocer. You can use chopped nuts, Sprinkles, Small candies ( like skittles M&M candies etc)
Also pick up either Chocolate bricks or white chocolate bricks for melting we use a chocolate candy coating which is perfect for pretzel rod making ! Once you get all this home get all items open and ready to work with ! You will need a glass bowl roughly a quart size glass bowl ( now if you want to "color" the white chocolate you get the POWDER FOOD COLORING make suer it is NOT the liquid because it will not blend with the chocolate and ruin the chocolate . It has to be powder this can be found at a Michael's Craft or online ! Ebay amazon simply GOOGLE powder food coloring.

OK lets get started set out on parchment paper your pretzel rods and melt the white chocolate and reg chocolate ! I highly reccomend you start melting the chocolate in the microwave at 1 min intervals . and then 30 secomds this stuff can and will burn fast on you ! so watch it !

Once the white chocolate is melted stir to a thick consistency and then add the desired color and use a little powder at a time you wont need much once you have incorporated the coloring then you can add a little more at a time !

use a Spoon and coat the pretzel rod completely holding it at the tip ( end of the rod) tap it lightly on the bowl to get excess off! then lay it down o parchment. Allow to dry ( set up) or if you want to decorate it this ist the time to do it! coat it with anything and everything then allow to cool .
once you have them cooled and they are set for presentation you can individually wrap each one to give the pretzel a more personal gift fell to it! then present them on a table either inside a bowl or vase for a more classy look....
My next post I will talk about how to add a little flavor to the chocolate and create a taset unlike anything you have had with pretzel rods!
